Scrap Process - How it works

  1. You submit your vehicle using the form on the right of our website - Remember to select your address first, this will activate the form.
  2. The request will enter our database and be frozen for 30 minutes to allow you to change your mind. You should also receive an automated email with a refrerence number.
  3. After 30 minutes we match your postal code with our driver in our system.
  4. The job is then allocated to the driver via a data terminal and includes an email to prompt the driver to login to our system and view the details.
  5. The driver will then call you back to arrange a convenient date and time for collection of your vehicle.
  6. Once the driver arrives, all paperwork is completed and the vehicle is loaded onto the truck.
  7. Your vehicle will then be transferred to our storage depot ready for depollution.
  8. Your vehicle is then crushed and the DVLA are notified electronically. (You must also send section 9 recorded post to the DVLA)
  9. You will then receive a letter in 4-6 weeks confirming your vehicle is de-registered.

Scrap Car UK inspects all vehicles on receipt and identification checks are made before they are de-registered. The battery, wheels and any hazardous parts are removed for reuse, recycling or disposal. Watch the demo by clicking the link below to see how the process takes place.
